Effects of a prosody rehabilitation program on expression of affect in preschool children with hearing impairment: a randomized trial

Abstract Background Children with hearing impairment are deprived of their source linguistic input which in turn leads to and prosodic deficits that negatively affect language social development. Linguistic aspects other than prosody have received considerable attention studies concerned hearing-impaired children little literature addressing how improve affective deficits. The aim the current study is adapt apply “prosody treatment program” detect effect rehabilitation on production development Egyptian children. This was conducted 21 sensorineural loss. subjects were randomly divided into two groups, group A (cases) B (control) by block randomization. evaluated pre post-therapy a protocol for assessment skills using subjective objective measures. Both groups usual auditory therapy. case additionally 3 months. Results showed statistically significant improvement scores most assessed when comparing pre-therapy cases group, both studied post-therapy.
